Taize Prayer at River's Edge

Group Description

Taize Prayer is a meditative Christian evening prayer that features chants, silence and short readings from the Bible. It is led by a group of musicians and singers. It lasts about an hour. Taize Prayer began at an ecumenical monastery in the town of Taize, France, that became a place of pilgrimage , particularly for young people. Chants were written specifically for these prayer gatherings and we will a number of these chants first sung at the monastery. We meet monthly from October into May and twice during the summer months. Our numbers range from 30-60 at a typical gathering.
